Overview

Carved deep into Wadi Bani Awf in the Al Hajar Mountains, Snake Canyon is Oman’s ultimate natural adventure playground. The route navigates a dramatic, winding slot gorge filled with boulder scrambling, swimming across cool freshwater pools, and exhilarating cliff jumps and abseils. It offers an unforgettable, high-adrenaline canyoning experience suited for active travelers looking to explore Oman's rugged wilderness.

Snake Canyon (Wadi Bimah), located within the rugged folds of Wadi Bani Awf, is Oman’s premier wet-canyoning route. Towering limestone walls rise hundreds of meters overhead, constricting in sections to just a few feet wide. Navigating the gorge requires a continuous combination of trekking, scrambling over massive boulders, swimming through deep natural pools, and navigating technical vertical drops via abseiling and cliff jumps.

Because once you enter the canyon there is no turning back, this adventure demands a moderate-to-high level of physical fitness, comfort with heights, and basic swimming ability.
